Order Triage & Auto-Assignment
Configure automatic order routing to the right workflow based on rules.
When orders come in from multiple sources with different product types, triage rules automatically assign them to the correct workflow.
How Triage Works
- New orders arrive from integrations or API
- System checks triage rules in order
- First matching rule assigns the order to that flow
- If no rules match, order goes to 'Needs Triage'
Triage Rules
Create rules based on:
- Platform - Route all Shopify orders to one flow, Etsy to another
- SKU Prefix - "CUSTOM-" SKUs go to custom workflow
- Item Name - Orders containing "Rush" go to priority flow
Managing Triage Queue
Orders that need manual assignment appear in the Triage page. Click an order to:
- View order details
- Manually assign to a flow
- Split items across multiple flows
Order Splitting
When an order contains items that belong in different workflows (e.g., a t-shirt and a mug), you can split it into separate orders.
Automatic Splitting
If your flows have triage rules configured, you can auto-split orders based on those rules:
- Open an order in the Triage queue
- Click Split by Rules
- System matches each line item against your flow rules
- Items are grouped by matching flow and split into separate orders
For example, if you have:
- Screen Print flow with rule: SKU starts with
SP- - Embroidery flow with rule: SKU starts with
EMB-
An order with items SP-001, SP-002, and EMB-001 would split into:
- Original order with
SP-001,SP-002→ Screen Print flow - New order with
EMB-001→ Embroidery flow
Items that don't match any rules stay with the original order.
Manual Splitting
You can also manually choose how to split:
- Open the order
- Click Split Order
- Select which items go to which flow
- Original order keeps unselected items, new orders created for the rest
